Aaron has cortical visual impairment (field loss)

Before belt cane

Walks with a wide gait, multiple prompts

Aaron is able to walk. His wide gait and need for multiple prompts to walk are indicators of mobility visual impairment. His verbalizations do not sound happy.

After belt cane

Every things better with belt cane

Aaron's teachers attached PVC handles on the side because "we are wanting him to use his right hand" and "the arm band is to keep him from taking off his glasses".

Path information is vital and fundamental.  Path information improves walking because it builds self-confidence.
