Matias' unique cane style.

Matias is on an evening walk with the family. He is holding his dad's hand. When he is guided on smooth surfaces, he tends to hold his cane off the ground. He uses the cane to check uneven surfaces and to detect objects in his way such as a care parked in the crosswalk.

Going to the Gymboree.            Matias is walking without holding a hand to the Gymboree. His parents have found fun ways to encourage him to follow them. They clap their hands, call happily and use lots of patience. Matias did it himself. Once inside, he asks to go back outside.

Letting go at home.             Matias has been encouraged to let go of his guide's hand at home too. This video celebrates him accomplishing this important milestone in belt cane goals.  Yeah Matias!! It is hard to stay firm, hats are off to the family!
