Spreading Cheer Throughout the Year!

This is an exciting time at Safe Toddles. We successfully brought early intervention mobility tools for children with congenital blindness into the 21st century. We did this by recognizing safe mobility to be a medical necessity for early childhood growth and development and then harnessing the power and the ingenuity of modern-day 3D printers.

In our first 8 years of providing Pediatric Belt Canes to thousands of families in need, medical and education professionals' nonbiased research has repeatedly shown significant walking and learning gains resulting from the Belt Cane approach. We have built and delivered education and training resources on our safety-first approach. We have continued to improve our manufacturing and continued to innovate our designs to include more blind children. All along the way, our generous donors have been our partners. We are now poised for major growth that will positively impact many more families.

One major driver of our coming expansion is that we are the only organization in the world providing real walking solutions for blind toddlers including those with motor and intellectual impairments. Recent studies have shown that every year almost 3 percent of babies are born with a visual impairment or blindness. With this in mind, we have been engaging those we serve, our stakeholders, and our team to carry out our bold strategic plan to reach many more families who need our help.

Growth is already happening at Safe Toddles, and your generous support has made it possible. In fiscal year 2024, our team provided 12% more new people with our life-changing Pediatric Belt Canes. Over the same period, the number of volunteers helping our mission more than doubled. We have prioritized accessibility and inclusion for our community and for those around the world, through our family and professional support and outreach.

Each of the families and professionals who have come to use the Pediatric Belt Cane to improve the safety of their children’s mobility has a unique story of overcoming natural inhibition to reach new goals. We are privileged to be their partner in their achievements. Our outlook is optimistic, because we know that with your help, we can reach even more people and make a difference in their lives. Here is a video of several of those who benefited from the gift of a Belt Cane.
